Uno de los discos más esperados para el 2011 era Collapse Into Now, y ya está en la calle. Este es el 15º álbum de estudio de la banda estadounidense R.E.M., contiene una docena de temas que han grabado entre New Orleans y Berlín, han escogido como primer single“Überlin”, que en mi opinión, aunque no es el mejor tema del álbum, sí que es una buena canción para las masas, por eso creo acertada la elección del single. Entre las colaboraciones, cabe destacar la que hace Patti Smith en el último tema del disco “Blue”.
R.E.M. me parece que ha vuelto a hacer un gran trabajo, y aunque como nos tienen acostumbrados, le sobran 3 o 4 temas al disco, hay otras 8 buenas canciones con las que seguir disfrutando de su música.
“Queríamos hacer un disco más expansivo, más variado y no limitarnos a un único tipo de canción. Hay algunas canciones realmente lentas y hermosas. También hay algunas a medio tiempo y tres o cuatro más roqueras”, comentó Mike Mills.
