La Costa Amalfitana

Dejamos atrás Lecce, pasando por Fogia, para llegar a la Costa Amalfitana. Desde Sorrento, colgado en el acantilado, mirando al golfo de Nápoles, hemos descubierto a través de la sinuosa Strada Statale 163, pueblos de color pastel que ascienden por la montaña en torno a iglesias con cúpulas de azulejos: La glamurosa Positano, Praiano con una curiosa plaza con una enorme flor de azulejos en el centro, Vietri sul Mare y las fachadas de cerámica, Amalfi, con su impresionante duomo, Ravello que ofrece una magnífica vista de la costa y sobre todo, paisajes de acantilados donde se esconden playas de un intenso color azul que hacen olvidar los 300 escalones que hay que bajar para alcanzarlas.
Desde Sorrento se llega en barco a Capri, donde sus aguas azul turquesa y verde esmeralda reciben cada día a miles de turistas de paso, que no podemos más que intuir la dolce vita de la isla, de aquellos que pasan sus vacaciones allí, entre tiendas de lujo y yates de 100 metros de eslora.
Y a una hora en tren desde Sorrento, dejando atrás estos idílicos paisajes, el bullicio de Nápoles, sus cientos de iglesias entre fachadas desconchadas, las miles de vespas familiares, donde caben la mamma y el figlio, las pizzerías, las tiendas de figuritas de terracota y la impresionante galería Umberto, al estilo de la de Milán pero con tiendas más modestas.
Y como no, visita obligada, Pompeya, donde el tiempo parece haberse detenido hace 2000 años, impresionante ver una ciudad tan lejana en el tiempo y tan parecida a las actuales, con bares, plazas, teatro, lupanar, termas ¿tan poco hemos evolucionado o es que estamos dando marcha atrás? Un dato para pensar: en Pompeya los esclavos, los sirvientes, venidos de Oriente en muchos casos, tenían un nivel cultural más elevado que sus señores, eran médicos, maestros…………
